Unfiltered is a 30-minute Lived Experience documentary filmed on Walyalup boodjar, created to bring the 2025 WA Mental Health Week theme - Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces - to life. Produced by Rachael Burns (Founder, Integrity Initiative - https://integrityinitiative.com.au/) and Lily Gresele (Founder, How To Be Well - https://www.howtobewell.online/), Unfiltered amplifies the voices of Western Australians navigating mental health challenges, neurodivergence, disability, homelessness, alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges, chronic illness, and more. Through raw and authentic storytelling, the film explores what it means to find belonging, purpose, and identity whilst navigating adversity. It shines a light on the Peer (Lived Experience) workforce, built from the determination of those who turn pain into purpose. It examines the evolving meaning of community, connection, and hope in a world that too often overlooks them.
Filming Day - July 27th 2025
Season one filming took place on July 27th, 2025 at Diversum Fremantle, who generously allowed us to utilise their gorgeous office space. Despite the atrocious weather, it was a beautiful day full of laughter, community and full hearts.
The day was led by Rachael and Lily (How To Be Well), but the focus of the day was on the incredible participants - Lana Moon, Natalee Blakemore, Zoe Diakoloukas, Eva Cocks, Annabel Tannenbaum, Jake Gaitskell and Ally McDonald.
Unfiltered Premiere at The Backlot Perth
On October 5th, Unfiltered premiered at The Backlot Perth with family, friends, colleagues and Peers.
It was a beautiful event full of celebrations, togetherness, connection and belonging. It truly embodied the theme of WA Mental Health Week 2025 and which grounded this edition of Unfiltered - "Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces"
